T'ain't Monday, 'Tis Tuesday...

Ya, it feels like Monday, but --

I want to keep attention on yesterday's post, which most of you will be peeking in on for the first time today. To whet your appetite, I'll note that one of the four excellent Larry Shell/Sam Glanzman auction items --Willi Franz & Sam Glanzman's "HUERTGEN MINEFIELD" - Complete 8-Pg Story -- was cited by my amigo and famed vet cartoonist Tim Truman, of Scout and Jonah Hex fame, as one of Sam and Willi's best Charlton stories. In fact, Tim ranks it right up there with the justly famed Harvey Kurtzman EC war comics stories.

  • Here's what Tim had to say: "...I'm sure you'll agree [it] is one of the most harrowing combat tales ever conceived for the comics medium." Agreed, Tim; read the whole story here, via the originals Larry posted for the auction.

  • More (and something different) tomorrow; be sure to check out yesterday's post, directly below, and have a great Tuesday, folks.

Good grief. That's pretty darned stark. Excellent tale.

Too bad most of what kids read makes war look like a game.
