I'm a Native Vermonter who drew and wrote from a tender age and loved dinosaurs and monsters, none of which I've ever outgrown. I graduated in 1978 as a member of the first-ever class at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art, Inc., entered the comics profession and carved out a career until my retirement from the field in 1999. I made (and left) my mark with SWAMP THING, TABOO, '1963,' and TYRANT, among others. As a writer, I've written for a variety of zines (including VIDEO WATCHDOG, DEEP RED, FANGORIA, etc.) and books (THE MONSTER BOOK: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, UNDERGROUND USA, etc.) amid occasional bouts of fiction (the Stoker Award winning novella ALIENS: TRIBES, short stories). My current pet project is GREEN MT CINEMA, dedicated to VT and New England films and filmmakers. I write constantly, draw occasionally, and now teach at the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Jct., VT. I live with my wife Marjory, whom I love -- and I sure love my son Daniel and my daughter Maia, too.

Cripes! Winter in April! New England lives on.
Man, that's a good crop of creators that the CCS brings in. I'm a huge fan of both CLAN and SANDWALK, I think I've read each of them at least once a year since they came out. Any scoop on future projects he's working on?
Jay talked a lot about his upcoming projects -- I'll post more info on the blog as time permits.
